nothing at Texas Children’s is
more impor tant than providing
quality outcomes for patients
and their families.
Quality is a primary focus of Texas Children’s strategic nursing plan. The team made great
strides in 2013 by developing and implementing a quality dashboard to provide nurses with
easy access to their quality data and benchmarks.
Throughout 2013, nursing leaders and frontline staff formed work teams to tackle nursing
concerns such as improving specific nursing-sensitive indicators in each unit. This helped
direct resources to the areas that most affect patient outcomes.
