As the voice of patients and
families, nurses are leading the
way for new initiatives and
changes to care.
In addition to unit improvement efforts, through research, education and innovation, nurses
are initiating improvements in the care of patients at Texas Children’s, and by sharing this
knowledge they’re impacting patients’ lives beyond the hospital walls. Through research
projects, led by our first nurse scientist, nurses are finding new methods of patient care to
help Texas Children’s patients every day. The frontline staff has an important part in refining
practices that improve patient outcomes. Their contributions are an invaluable part of
changing the future of health care.
