Awards and recognition
Texas Children’s inaugural Nursing Excellence Awards Luncheon honored staff members
who tirelessly work toward better patient care. Although Texas Children’s has a long
history of honoring nurses and preceptors of the year, 2013 was the first year the
award ceremony was held during national Nurses Week. Also new in 2013, the award
categories were expanded to recognize nurses, nursing leaders, “friends of nursing” and
the “rookie” of the year.
