Please read the following terms and conditions before using this Web site or any other Web site that is owned, operated or sponsored by Texas Children’s Hospital Integrated Delivery System. By accessing or using any Texas Children’s Web sites, you agree to the following terms and conditions. Texas Children’s recommends that you review these terms and conditions regularly as they may change at any time at the discretion of Texas Children’s. If you do not agree to any term or condition, you should not access or use Texas Children’s Web sites.

The following terms and conditions apply to all Web sites owned, operated or sponsored by Texas Children’s entities.

Texas Children’s Web sites are provided to you for your information and convenience only. Texas Children’s Web site content* is provided “as is” and without warranties of any kind, express or implied. By providing access to our Web site content, we do not warrant or represent that:

  • The content is accurate or complete;

Children’s privacy
Protecting the privacy of children is very important to Texas Children’s. Texas Children’s supports the Children’s Online Privacy and Protection Act of 1998 (COPPA). For that reason, we do not collect or maintain information at Texas Children’s Web sites from those who have identified themselves as under 13 years of age.

Information we collect
Personal information is information that can be used to identify or contact you. Texas Children's collects only the personal information you provide to us in the following ways: 1) When you register as a member of Online Parents’ Connection and/or when you update your member profile. 2) When you donate, register, create a profile, or build a fundraising or personal page within the Ways to Give section of the web site. 3) When you access our site and complete mail-to links or forms that are used to contact Texas Children's, such as our Career Opportunities response mechanism. These mail-to links and forms collect information you provide in order for Texas Children’s to deliver requested materials, respond to your questions, or provide related information. 4) When you enroll your child in the MyChart online medical record system.

Privacy and information security
Texas Children's respects your privacy and will not voluntarily release, trade or sell any information you provide without your approval. Texas Children's is not responsible for the release of any information you provide directly to other users of this website or third parties.

Unfortunately, no data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be secure. Please note that your e-mail, like most non-encrypted Internet communications, may be accessed and viewed by other Internet users, without your knowledge or permission, while in transit to us. You should also know that the e-mail functionality on Texas Children’s Web site does not provide a completely secure and confidential means of communication.

Texas Children’s employs physical, electronic and procedural safeguards, in keeping with industry standards and best practices, to protect your privacy and personal information.

Transmitted data is non-confidential
Texas Children’s does not want to receive confidential or proprietary information from you through any Texas Children’s Web site, with the exception of the MyChart online medical record system. If you transmit information or post any information via Texas Children’s Web sites, including but not limited to personal health information or business matters of any kind, it will be treated as non-confidential and non-proprietary, with the exception of information transmitted via MyChart.

Newsletters and e-mail alerts
Texas Children’s Web site offers e-mail alerts and newsletters to users who have registered and provided us with an e-mail address for notification. These e-mail alerts and newsletters may include notices of upcoming special events, general health information, ways to give or other items specific to the area of interest. By signing up to receive email from www.texaschildrens.org, you understand that Texas Children's will send you email periodically. If you no longer want to receive these items, you may withdraw from any e-mail alert or newsletters list by using the "unsubscribe" option.

A cookie is a small text file stored on your hard disk by a Web site you have visited. Cookies contain information to remind the Web site about you the next time you visit. Cookies are used on some password protected areas of Texas Children’s Web sites to hold your username and viewing options.

Log files
Texas Children’s log files automatically collect Internet protocol (IP) addresses for security purposes. IP addresses are not linked to personally identifiable information unless the IP address you have designated contains information such as your name, e.g. lastname@aol.com.

Changes to the Terms of Use 
Texas Children’s may update these Terms of Use from time to time in response to changing business circumstances and legal developments. In such instances, Texas Children’s will post any changes so that you are aware of the information that we collect and how we use it. 

Preregistration using electronic forms 
If you elect to electronically submit a completed pre-registration form, you agree that you do so at your own risk, and that you assume all responsibility for any liability arising from such electronic submission or from any errors or omissions in the data you provide. In addition, a completed pre-registration form does not create or constitute any relationship between you and Texas Children's (its directors, officers, employees, agents or representatives) or any of the physicians on Texas Children’s medical staff.
